Erika Gossett will graduate next month with a BM in flute performance, as well as a BA in media studies, a minor in business and a Music Entrepreneurship Certificate, exemplifying the College of Music’s universal musician vision. To support our students’ and our community’s musical development, the College of Music offers summer session courses and richly varied summer programming.

The newly expanded Imig Music Building strengthens the college’s Musicians’ Wellness Program by better supporting students in navigating the often complex and multifaceted path of being a musician.

“We have a strong foundation for DEI work and we’re seeing progress [...] but there’s more work—more positive disruption—ahead of us before we can claim ubiquitous inclusivity in our college’s culture, classrooms and curricula.”

“We have a real opportunity to use the American Music Research Center as a uniting force to bring together people of different cultures, ethnicities, perspectives and walks of life. I see this [DEI] work as not only educational, but as a strategy to improve the environment in which persons of color are pursuing their educations at CU Boulder.”

Among 30 distinguished academics, clinicians, consultants and authors, Jeffrey Nytch—director of the College of Music’s Entrepreneurship Center for Music and associate professor of composition—has joined the Yamaha Master Educator Collective’s newly-launched Music Business and Entrepreneurship group.
