ISSS provides scheduled, remote advising appointments and in-person, walk-in advising.

Remote Scheduled Advising Appointments

Remote advising appointments can be booked 6 days in advance.

Student Appointments

Click on the button below to schedule a remote advising appointment with an ISSS advisor.

• Select the appointment type (e.g., General, Sponsored Student, Honor Code) to see available appointment dates and times.
  • Students sponsored by Aramco Services, the Kuwait Cultural Office, Embassy of Oman, SABIC, SACM, SCO, or Fulbright, select a "Sponsored Student" advising option.

Rescheduling an Appointment

The system that is used for remote advising gives you the option to reschedule your appointment, but DO NOT use this option. Rescheduling causes issues in the system that will result in the advisor not being able to connect with you. Instead you must cancel your current appointment and schedule a new appointment at your desired time

Canceling an Appointment

If you are unable to attend your remote advising appointment, cancel your appointment in advance so another student can schedule an appointment at that time.

• If you cancel and re-book your appointment, use the Join Meeting link in the email for the new (uncancelled) appointment.
  • An advisor will not join you in the meeting room for the canceled appointment.

Scholar and Host Department Appointments

International scholars in J-1, H-1B, TN, E-3, or LPR status and their host department should contact the ISSS advisor assigned to the department directly to schedule an appointment.

In-Person Advising Appointments

General Students Walk-In Advising Appointments

In-person, walk-in advising hours are posted on the right side of this webpage. These appointments do not need to be booked in advance.

• In the event of a non-holiday closure or temporary change in advising hours, information will be posted on the ISSS homepage.

Sponsored Student Scheduled In-Person Advising Appointments

Starting January 12, 2026, sponsored students must book an in-person advising appointment in advance of the advising session. Walk-ins are no longer available.

Checking-In for Walk-In Advising

To facilitate your check-in at the office, come prepared with your university ID number (student ID, employee ID, or Temp ID).

Upon entering the office lobby, go to the ISSS laptop on the right side of the office. Complete the Front Desk Check-In form, entering your University ID when prompted.

Instructions for Accessing Your University ID

• While the Front Desk Check-In form allows you to enter your university email address instead of your university ID number, entering your university ID number ensures that ISSS accesses the correct client record. Entering an email address is less accurate.
  • If you choose to enter a university email address instead of your university ID, enter your first.last@colorado.edu email address (not IdentiKey@colorado.edu).
