Mail and Package Services
Mail and Package Services provides delivery and shipping services for CU Boulder departments, faculty, and staff. Operations include processing and delivery of incoming and outgoing mail and packages, campus courier services, and more. International Shipping Process (interim)
Step #1: ÌýPrepare your package/item for shipping
Please gather all relevant information which includes:
Ìý Ìý a. Haz Mat SDS (for any haz mat shipment)
Ìý Ìý b. Value of item
Ìý Ìý c. Detailed description of item/components (including quantity, material composition, and country(s) of origin)
Ìý Ìý d. Purpose of shipment (for research, gift, etc.)
Ìý Ìý e. End user contact information (name, address, phone #, email)
Ìý Ìý f. If the item is valued at more than $2500, then please reach out to Distribution Services (shipping@colorado.edu)Ìý
Ìý Ìý Ìý Ìýfor guidance before moving on to Step #2.Ìý
Ìý Ìý g. For bulk international mail, please contact shipping@colorado.edu before moving on to Step #2.
Step #2: ÌýContact recipient for Import License requirements.ÌýDistribution Services is not responsible for Import License requirements.ÌýDistribution Services can connect you with an Import Broker for more information if necessary.
Step #3:ÌýFill out the Mail & Package Services Request Form
Step #4: ÌýDistribution Services will contact/engage CU Export Controls for review of the shipment.
Step #5: ÌýExport Control approves or denies request. CU Export Control will reach out to Requestor for additional information needed for approval.
Step #6: ÌýUpon Export Control approval, please print out and attach submission form to item. Distribution Services will arrange for pickup of your item. Item will not be picked up if form is not attached.
Step #7: ÌýDistribution Services will review the item for shipment. This will include:
Ìý Ìý a. Confirming details contained in submission
Ìý Ìý b. Restricted Party screening
Ìý Ìý c. If no preferred shipper is indicated, then best shipping method determined by Distribution Services
Ìý Ìý d. Preparation of required shipping labels and export documentation
Step #8: ÌýItem is shipped. Tracking information provided to Requestor.
