Meet the Peer Academic Coaches!

Andreas

I am a Mechanical Engineering student. I received excellent peer coaching when I was struggling early on, and I am now excited to pay it forward and help people where I can as a Peer Academic Coach! Outside of school I like Jiu jitsu, biking, live music, and traveling to Europe.

Olivia (she/her)

Hello! My name is Olivia, I'm a 4th year student, and this will be my 3rd year as a Peer Academic Coach. I wanted to become a Peer Coach to give students the support I wished I had as a first-year student when I was struggling. Academic Coaching was a huge game changer for me, and I wanted to be able to provide that for others. I love sports and I am a hardcore nerd, I enjoy games of all kinds, cooking, and flying. I'm also an avid reader!

Thomas (he/him)

I am pursuing an Aerospace Engineering major, minors in Russian Studies and Space. I chose to be a Peer Academic Coach to help other STEM majors work through challenges they are facing. Academic coaching has been helpful for me when working through stresses both inside and outside of school; I want to do the same for others if I can. A few of my hobbies and interests are playing Dungeons and Dragons, video games, MMA (Mixed Martial Arts), reading comics, skateboarding, learning languages, and dancing.Ìý

Ava (she/her)

ÌýI am studying Civil Engineering. I wanted to be a Peer Academic coach to be able to give back to CEAS and help other students with their academic goals. I would not have made it this far in engineering without support, and I wanted to offer help to other students. In my free time, I’m very into collaging, skiing, and painting.Ìý

Ingrid (she/her)

I am pursuing Aerospace Engineering. I wanted to help other students live up to their academic potential. I wanted to give other students tools and strategies to become engineers. When I can, I like to read, run, hike and draw.Ìý

Joey (he/him)

I am pursuing a BS in Computer Science with a minor in Engineering Entrepreneurship. My transition from high school to university was stressful, and I passed thanks to the support of my peers at the time. Now, I'm excited to give back to that same community that helped me as a Peer Academic Coach mentoring students in the ACCESS for Engineers program. I love playing guitar with my friends, recording funny videos, and coding!Ìý

Leyla (she/her)

I am close to finishing my Aerospace Engineering major, and Space and Engineering Management minor.ÌýI had a steep learning curve transitioning into college life. I've found what works for me now and want to spread the things I've learned! Outside of school, I play Club Frisbee and love to hike and ski!Ìý

Lila (she/her)

I am working towards a major in Architectual Engineering and certificate in Global Engineering. I want to be a peer coach to help students recognize they’re not alone! Engineering is challenging, and having someone to work with who understands those challenges is so important for succeeding.Ìý

Maria (she/her/ella)

I am working towards completing a major in Aerospace Engineering, minor in Italian, and minor in Engineering Management. I wanted to be a Peer Academic Coach to use what I have gained from my own personal experience of being an International Student here in Boulder to help others in their academic journey at CU. In my free time, I love drawing and painting, going out with my friends, watch F-1 and everything to do with motorsports.Ìý

McKenna (she/her)

I am an Aerospace Engineering student. I applied to be a Peer Academic Coach because I wanted to grow as a leader and mentor. It’s meaningful to me to be part of someone’s academic journey and see them build confidence over time. I love skiing, hiking, tennis, and music!Ìý

Natsumi (she/her)

I am studying Aerospace Engineering with a minor in Engineering Management. I want to be a Peer Academic Coach to help students and to create environments that encourage and promote academic collaboration. In addition, to strengthen not only my skills as a leader, listener, and student, but my peer’s as well. My hobbies include painting, though I am no Bob Ross! If you can find me, I’ll probably be next to the pool with my favorite book, or, if winter, out on the ski slopes. Interestingly enough, I started my own fantasy novel.Ìý

Nia (she/her)

I am studying Aerospace with a minor in Space. I wanted to be a Peer Academic Coach because I enjoy helping others reach their academic goals and feel more comfortable and confident in their abilities. I’ve faced my own challenges with learning and staying motivated, being a coach I can share effective ways to stay motivated. In my free time, I enjoy listening to music, and spending time outside enjoying nature.Ìý

Ratna (he/him)

I am working towards earning Aerospace Engineering major and Computer Science minor. I wanted to be a Peer Academic Coach because I know how beneficial it is to have someone who can relate and be supportive to navigate through academic challenges. I enjoy forming relationships with others and sharing techniques that have worked for me, and I am excited to leave a positive impact in the CEAS community. I enjoy working on coding projects, exploring aerospace concepts, and building cool side projects with Python. Outside of academics, I like playing soccer and watching Formula 1.

Wyatt

I am pursuing an accelerated master's degree in aerospace engineering with a Fluids, Structures, and Materials focus. I got my undergraduate degree in Aerospace Engineering with minors in Business and Engineering Management. I struggled with academics by myself my first few years of college, in the sense that I didn't really take advantage of a lot of resources the school had. I got through it fine, but I could have made it a lot easier on myself with a little help. I would love to be that help for other students to help them maximize their college experience! In my free time, I like music and sports, namely tennis.Ìý
