  • <p>A new study involving the 做厙輦⑹ and Humboldt State University shows that senior citizens who run several times a week for exercise expend about the same amount of energy walking as a typical 20-year-old.</p>

    <p>Not everybody or everything makes it to 100, but the 做厙輦⑹ Homecoming is about to reach that centennial mark. On Nov. 7, 1914, CU took on Utah to win 33-0 in the first Homecoming featuring an intercollegiate matchup.</p>
    <p>This year, from Oct. 22 to 25, CU-Boulder will host hundreds of guests at dozens of major events. In addition to the traditional football game and parade, the celebration will include a concert, an alumni lecture series, affinity reunions and college and school gatherings.</p>
  • <p><span>The University of Colorado cross country teams have consistently been one of the most dominate combined squads in the nation and this year the Buffs looks like they will remain that way with all of the talent returning to both mens and womens teams.</span></p>
    <p><span>The season officially kicks off on Saturday, Aug. 30, as the Buffs will host the CU Alumni/Open/Time Trial at the Buffalo Ranch Cross Country Course on CUs South Campus. The womens 5.8-kilometer race will start at 8:30 a.m. and the mens 8k race will follow at 9:15 a.m. Parking and admission are free.</span></p>
  • <p>New students at the 做厙輦⑹ will be greeted with dozens of activities including a welcome convocation, a Folsom Field pep rally and a Global Jam international food and music fest during Week of Welcome beginning Aug. 21.</p>
    <p>The free events give new students a chance to get acquainted with each other, the campus and surrounding community before classes start on Aug. 25. The activities are scheduled in addition to orientation sessions that cover the details of class registration, policies and student services at each college.</p>
  • <p>New and returning students moving into the 做厙輦⑹ residence halls can choose which day to move in Aug. 18-21, will swipe Buff OneCards instead of filling out a form to check in and will be able to take advantage of Quick Drop Stations.</p>
    <p>We take pride in doing our best to provide a warm welcome and a helping hand for our new and returning students, said John Fox, associate director of Residence Life. This year we decided to make some changes in order to make the process as smooth as possible.</p>
  • <p><span>When the volleyball season begins at the University of Colorado and it wont be long the Coors Events Center will become The Court of Three Sisters.</span><span>Coach Liz Kritza believes having three siblings on the same team might be an NCAA Division I first.</span></p>
  • <p>On Saturday, July 12, the University of Colorado Police Department will play softball against the University of Colorado football team for the first time in what is hoped to become an annual event.</p>
    <p>The game will start at 3 p.m. at the East Mapleton Ball Fields, located behind Whole Foods Market near Mapleton Avenue and 30th Street. Officers from other local agencies, such as the Boulder Police Department and the Boulder County Sheriffs Office, have also been invited to play. The university community and the public are encouraged to attend.</p>
  • <p>Jimmy Mickle is a bio-tech lab assistant, a CU-Boulder graduate who studied chemical and biological engineering, and the winner of this years<a href="http://callahan.ultimatecentral.com/">Callahan Award</a> the equivalent of the Heisman Trophy in USA Ultimate terms.</p>
  • <p>The Pacific-12 Conference and its television partners released arrangements for the first three weeks of the 2014 season for all games covered by their contracts, and the University of Colorados two in-state games against Colorado State and Arizona State both will receive maximum exposure.</p>
  • <p>The University of Colorado club triathlon, swimming and diving, and free style ski teams all repeated as national champions in 2014, while the CU club lacrosse team won its first. This past weekend, the CU men's ultimate team won the national championship, bringing the total to five national championsips for <a href="http://http://www.colorado.edu/recreation/clubsports/">CU Collegiate Sports Club</a> teams in 2014.</p>
