Web grading for Fall 2025 opens on Thursday, Dec. 4. See the Fall 2025 grade processing calendar (PDF) or the chart below to determine your grading deadlines.

To support student success, please enter, approve and post all grades by each class's deadline. The final grading deadline is Tuesday, Dec. 16 at 11:59 p.m. MT. Late grades can lead to serious negative consequences for your students.

Tuesday, Dec. 2: Your diploma and/or certificate(s) will be mailed and your complimentary certified electronic diploma and/or certified electronic certificate(s) are ready to download. Please allow 4 to 6 weeks from this date for your paper diploma/certificate to arrive.

CU Boulder's formal commencement ceremony occurs annually in May. Some colleges, schools and programs hold recognition ceremonies at other times of year as well. For more information, visit the commencement website.

We noticed that you've exhausted your allotted 145 lifetime hours of COF funding toward your degree. On your behalf, we've granted you an institutional waiver that allows your COF funding to continue through Summer 2026.

You don't need to take any additional action at this time. This semester's COF hours will be applied to your bill within 48 to 72 hours.

To Apply for Additional COF Hours

If you'll need COF hours beyond Summer 2026, you may submit a Colorado Commission on Higher Education waiver request.

To Postpone This Extension

To postpone this COF lifetime limit extension until your next semester of enrollment, email the COF support team by 5 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 12, 2025.

Please be aware that if you postpone the extension, you'll be responsible for paying the portion of this semester's tuition typically covered by COF funds.

We sent this email at 7 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 16, 2025, to individuals who had financial activity on their account for 2025 and didn't have an SSN or TIN on file.

Dear [first],

You are required by federal law to provide a Social Security number (SSN) or Taxpayer Identification number (TIN) to CU Boulder for tax purposes.*

If you fail to do so, the U.S. Internal Revenue Service (IRS) may impose a financial penalty of $50 (26 CFR 1.6050S-1(e)).

To resolve this issue, submit an SSN/TIN update form and a copy of your SSN or TIN card to the Office of the Registrar by mail or secure document upload by 5 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 17, 2025.

CU Boulder Employees

You may have reported your SSN to HR, however, our systems do not currently communicate and you will need to report it to the Office of the Registrar as well to fulfill this requirement.

Privacy

CU Boulder protects the confidentiality of personally identifiable information and will not disclose an SSN or TIN for any purpose not permitted by law or policy (including FERPA) without your consent.

*Federal Requirement

Section 6109 of the Internal Revenue Code requires you to provide your correct SSN or TIN so CU Boulder can file Form 1098-T (Tuition Statement) with the IRS and provide a statement to you.

The degree audit system will undergo a system upgrade beginning 5 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 14 and through Sunday, Nov. 16.

If you’re planning to check your degree progress (audit) to prepare for registration, please note that the degree audit system will be unavailable during this time.

After the system upgrade, you'll notice a slightly new look and feel. And if you're a student with access to the "Plans" tab, please note that this planner functionality will be going away. If you previously completed a plan that you wish to keep, please download a copy for your records.

COF was created by the Colorado Legislature to pay a portion of total in-state tuition for eligible undergrads. There's no limit to the number of students who receive it, and you never have to pay it back.

To Correct Your Record

To resolve this error, follow our step-by-step instructions to update your record by 5 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 5, 2025.

Do not email anything containing your SSN. Doing so could put you at high risk for identity theft.

Once you receive an email confirming that your record was updated, follow our online instructions to authorize COF by 11:59 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 12, 2025.
