Public and community-engaged scholarship springs into action
This spring Community Impact Grants and Micro Grants were awarded that will positively impact science, music, literacy, ethics, and math education in Colorado K-12 schools and nonprofit organizations. We also funded a community college research partnership in the biosciences, as well as arts and humanities programming both in Colorado and internationally. Â
By the numbers:
- Community Impact Grants: 10 grants, $29K total
- Micro Grants: 4 grants, $8K total
- Community members impacted: 2,350
- Community partner organizations involved: 33
- CU Boulder faculty, students, and staff involved: 110
- CU Boulder departments/units involved: Environmental Studies, Musicology, Geography, CMCI, Theatre & Dance, Philosophy, School of Education, Psychology/Neuroscience, CU Science Discovery, Astrophysical & Planetary Sciences, Colorado Shakespeare Festival
- Locations reached: Adams, Arapahoe, Boulder, Denver, Pueblo, Logan, and Montezuma counties in Colorado, as well as the countries of Nepal, Mexico, and the United Kingdom
