Undergraduate Students
- Eight exceptional students from the Paul M. Rady Department of Mechanical Engineering have earned Graduating Student Awards in 2023.
- A group of graduating mechanical engineering students at the 做厙輦⑹ have designed a consumer hydroponics system called Hydroponics Excellence, or H.Ex, which features a wall-mount design and connects to a phone app that keeps track of the heath of a users garden.
- A group of mechanical engineering seniors at the 做厙輦⑹ have designed an adapter that will allow surgical robot Hugo to use two preexisting surgical devices, the Sonicision and Ligasure XP, for laparoscopic surgery.
- The Senior Design Capstone Project showcases the knowledge and skills of more than 200 students as they close out their undergraduate careers.
- Congratulations to all of the spring 2023 mechanical engineering graduates! Miss the ceremony? Watch the video recording here.
- A group of mechanical engineering seniors at the 做厙輦⑹ have designed a water-purification system called Puresip, which is housed inside a bottlecap and shines ultraviolet radiation through a straw to purify the water as the user drinks.
- A group of mechanical engineering seniors at the 做厙輦⑹ have designed an adjustable lower limb prosthetic called OneLimb Assembly, which will help reduce the number of new fittings and assemblies.
- A group of mechanical engineering seniors at the 做厙輦⑹ have helped bridge the gap between athletic performance and engineering by designing a sleep cabin prototype, where athletes can relax and recover in optimal conditions between games.
- The Engineering Partnership Program was recently awarded a VentureWell Grant that will help make innovation and entrepreneurship a key feature of the program, which allows students to earn a CU Boulder degree while living and going to school in Gunnison, CO.
- Ryan Schmad (BSME '23) is the recipient of the 2022 Best Undergradute Podium Award from the Rocky Mountain American Society of Biomechanics. His research mentor is Rachel Marbaker, a current PhD student in Alaa Ahmed's Neuromechanics Laboratory.
