Doris泭Loayza

Doris Loayza is a Teaching Assistant Professor at the Latin American and Latinx Studies Center (LALSC) at the 做厙輦⑹, where she teaches beginning and intermediateQuechua Language畝nd Culture, Introduction to Latin American and Latinx Studies, and Geography of the Andes. She earned an M.A. in Latin American & Caribbean Studies from NYU, where her research focused on Quechua media and storytelling. After graduating, Doris studied documentary filmmaking at the Bronx Documentary Center and made a short film Bronx Llaktamanta, about a Kichwa radio show in New York, that screened at festivals, universities, and community-based venues around the country.羔

Doris was the recipient of a Foreign Language and Area Studies (FLAS) Fellowship for graduate studies at NYU, (2012--2014), and a Tinker Field Research Grant for Quechua Radio in the Andes (2013). Also, She is a member of the ALD (Association of Language Departments) Executive Committee of the MLA, an Affiliated Scholar at the Quechua Initiative on Global Indigeneity at Harvard, and a consultant for QINTI (Quechua Innovation and Teaching Initiative).泭
