Marissa is a second year Mechanical Engineering PhD student. Her research focuses on volatile organic compound emissions from biomass burning. She graduated from Marquette University with a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering in the fall of 2022 and received her M.S. in Mechanical Engineering from CU in the spring of 2025. Her previous research experiences are in shock physics and the use of ethanol and other low carbon fuels in heavy duty engines. Outside of CU she likes running, biking, and hiking.
