We are excited to inform you thatÌýa new versionÌýof Introduction to Computer Vision (CSCA 5222) reflecting the latest advancements in the field will be released in Fall session 2, 2025. We are also thrilled to announce that the next courses in the specialization, course 2: Deep Learning for Computer Vision (CSCA 5322) and course 3: Computer Vision for Generative AI (CSCA 5422), will be available to take for-credit in the Fall 1 session, 2025.Ìý

What this means for you:Ìý
The current version of Introduction to Computer Vision (CSCA 5222)Ìýwill close on October 3, 2025. The new version will be will be available for-credit Fall session 2, 2025. Fall session 2 courses open on October 20, 2025. If you are planning on transferring progress from the non-credit (open) to for-credit version, the last session you are able to transfer your current progress is Fall session 1, 2025.

Summary of Enhancements for Introduction to Computer Vision:

The updated course now uses a more hands-on, interactive learning style. You’ll work with downloadable Excel workbooks to practice formulas and calculations as you follow along with the instructor. The video lessons have been updated to match this new approach. Graded assignments have also been redesigned to better test your understanding of key concepts.

Important considerations:

• Switching to for-creditÌý
  If you want to apply the progress or work you've completed in the non-credit version of the course to the for-credit version, you must enroll in the for-credit version and complete the required assignments by the Fall 1 deadlines.
• Mixing & Matching For-Credit Course Versions
  Please note that if you have completed (or are currently-enrolled in) the current version of Introduction to Computer Vision, the specialization can be completed with course 2 and 3 without having to take the new version of the first course.
