Barbara Flocke, the Faculty Assistant Director of Academics at the International English Center, has 30 years of experience in international education. She works with faculty to provide engaging courses that help students excel and reach their academic and professional goals. Barbara works with faculty and staff on strategic planning and maintaining Intensive English Program accreditation. Since 2007, Barbara has taught and coordinated programs at the IEC, creating extensive curriculum for the Intensive English, Pathways to CU, Legal English, Fulbright, and Global Business Communication programs. Barbara presents at TESOL International and other conferences, focusing on teacher training, metacognition, experiential learning, multi-level instruction,Ìýand communicative teaching.ÌýBarbaraÌýholdsÌýan MA in Curriculum and Instruction withÌýa concentration inÌýTESL from the University of Texas in Austin, and a BA in French with a Political Science minor from Gonzaga University. Besides learning about languages and world cultures, sheÌýloves hiking, cycling, skate skiing, and creating clay sculptures.
