Boyd discusses military lasers with The Sun UK

Iain Boyd gave a lengthy interview to The Sun UK newspaper about the use of lasers as a military weapon
Boyd, a professor in the Ann and H.J. Smead Department of Aerospace Engineering Sciences, is a national security expert and also the director of the CU Boulder Center for National Security Initiatives.
"So if you use traditional kinetic weapons, like bullets, you've got a finite number that you can fire. And once you're out of ammunition, you're done," Boyd said. "But with lasers, the idea is as long as you have them plugged into an electrical source, you know, you can keep on firing."
The interview and article discusses positives and negatives of laser-based weapons technology, which have been used in the Ukraine War and the war in Gaza.
